Arista is very kind-hearted and positive, showing compassion for others and having a desire to preserve all ocean's in the universe for generations to come. She also hates bullies and will always stand up for others. At times, She appears to be slightly bashful. She is also very apologetic, often saying "Sorry!" She does, however, have a tendency to be overemotional, despite having a habit to be ditzy, naive and sensitive, leading to her sometimes being regarded as the group's weakest link, by friends and foes alike. However, she can become very independent and aggressive, let alone extremely mad when tempted. Arista is strongly connected to nature and loves helping people.

She has a sensitive personality to the point where she would instinctively care for her friends as well as total strangers when they are in distress. Arista has an insecure side to her personality as she has problems believing in herself at times. Her insecurity sometimes causes her to hide most of her feelings to the point where she has problems expressing them. When protective of others, she can be headstrong, aggressive, and single-minded. She is also quite humble, but will use the power of her position to inspire hope in those who have learned to live without it. Her authority and power as a Sailor Soldier is used only in the service of others. She is altruistic, focusing on helping her friends by any means necessary, She is often tries to be the voice of caution and logic among the Sailor Soldiers.

Through all the tragedy Arista has gone through she has learned to see the brighter side of things instead of giving into any darkness. She is incredibly forgiving and believes that everyone is worth a second chance knowing that sometimes life causes others to make mistakes or bad choices. She is endlessly optimistic and a hopeless romantic hoping to one day find that someone who is meant for her. Though a bit of a dimwit she's incredibly in tune with the emotional states of others usually picking up on feelings before they're expressed especially feelings of love. • Under water Breathing- Merpeople can stay submerged for infinte periods periods of time but they still can breathe air.
• Transformation- Merfolk can change their fins to legs with a thought however they must return to water at least once ever lunar cycle or they become very sick prolong periods of time out of water will cause them to become lethargic and eventually die.
• Slightly enhanced senses-Merfolk may have slightly enhanced senses suited to life underwater due to living in the sea. To merfolk, land people smell horrible, even the average hygienic human emits this smell but only merfolk can detect
• Speed Swimming-In water, merpeople also have the additional ability of Speed-Swimming. When a merperson speed-swims their body is enveloped in bubbles that they use as a jet stream to swim quickly. This can be a great advantage when trying to flee from enemies such as another mermaid/merman or boats and other water crafts.oats and other water crafts.
• Merpeople can adapt and swim in both fresh and saltwater but they prefer to live in saltwater.
• Zoolingualism - merpeople have the unique ability to comprehend and speak the language of sea creatures (for instance, dolphins and whales)

 

It is said that all the ocean’s of the universe start and end on the planet mermaid that the planet itself is the source of all aquatic life throughout the cosmos all of which is true the the ocean planet is known as the Absolute Ocean to the locals. Charged with the protection and maintenance of the seas are the merfolk of mermaid they travel the universe caring for those who are a part of their realm.

Life on mermaid was peaceful the merfolk lived in pods and raised their young as a group the females lay eggs, which look roughly like large coral cannonballs. They are naturally attuned to the planet's rhythms. As such, females will become fertile on the autumnal equinox every thirteenth year, and will lay a single egg on the following spring equinox. All of the eggs will be stored together in the pods hatchery, and the communal hatching occurs thirteen years later.

This was how one spring Equinox one egg hatch two younglings a very rare event on the planet the twins were named Arista and Atsira and from the moment of their hatching were inseparable. Atsira was always the more outgoing of the two, she learned how to swim first, speak first and even started to train first on the merfolk calling of protecting the seas of the universe.

Their childhood was a normal one on mermaid full of lots of laughs, fun and plenty of singing the two of them were never seen without each other and their life was seemingly perfect. That was until in their teenage years the two of them were on a planet whose sea life had started to become mutated by pollution and neglect of the inhabitants of its world. A creature attacked Atsira and Arista tried her best to save her but everything she tried was is vain their magic was peaceful and meant to heal not to harm. As the creature wrapped it’s arms around Atsira’s neck Arista could feel something inside her change and a new power took hold of her it was the first time she transform into Sailor Mermaid the chosen guardian of Mermaid. Easily saving her sister the two returned to their planet and shared the news with their elders who decided that she would be sent off world to train with the Sailor Soldiers of a nearby galaxy since they didn’t have the knowledge to help her.

This is where everything change for the first time the twins would be separated and this caused Astira to feel jealous of the sister she had always been better than. The training for Arista was grueling in so many ways she had never been allowed to take humanoid form before and training with the Sailor Guardians of this world she felt out of place and the culture shock was sometimes too much to take. But from a young age a sense of duty was instilled in her and she soldiered on eventually become a competent guardian.

When she returned to Mermaid the dynamic of her life change she was no longer considered simply part of the pod but regarded as sort of a leader some even going as far as referring to her as a princess. All of which for her was too much and she insisted to continue her duties like the rest of the merfolk. In the length of time of her absence Atsira had become withdrawn from the pod and spent a lot of time off world and her demeanor changed even more when she saw how Arista was being treated.

Things took a turn for the worse when Sailor Galaxia a dark Sailor Soldier from another galaxy attacked mermaid. Viewing the planet as a strategic advantage because of the gates that connected to other worlds would allow her easy access to invade anywhere and everywhere. The battle was long and hard but Sailor Mermaid held her own against galaxia that was until Atsira quite literally stabbed her in the back multiple times. She lay there bleeding out as Atsira made some sort of villainous monologue about living in the shadow of her much weaker sibling. Atsira removed her star seed and presented to Galaxia as a token of her loyalty as well as the planet mermaid. Dubbing herself Sailor Aluminum Siren Atsira help spread Galaxia’s reign throughout the cosmos.

When the reborn Princess serenity defeated chaos and spread her holy light to the stars all life began anew. She found herself waking up in the same place she had died only this time without her sister. But being who she was she couldn’t find it in herself to be mad at her instead she wanted to find her and forgive her feeling partly responsible for everything. She spoke with the elders and made sure if they needed her they could contact her but she assigned herself to watch over the oceans of earth partly because it was the last location her sister was and partly because the Senshi high command intrigue her.

Using the gate to earth’s oceans she made her way to Crystal Tokyo as Sailor Soldier of Mermaid she joined the command and added her home planet to its protection. It was here she met her roommate and they quickly moved in together out of necessity. Being a free spirit she didn’t take a job instead relying on her singing talents to become a street performer or performing at local coffee shops or other venues to pay the bills.
