In-depth Character Personality:(MINIMUM 3 Paragraphs) Hotaru Tomoe was once a shy,intelligent, and timid little girl. She tried to make friends, but her healing abilities set her aside from the other children, and, as we all know, children tend to be cruel to those who are different from the crowd. She withdrew into herself, but her core sweetness remained. She still healed when she could, to stop the hurt even when she knew the very person she helped would shun her for it. She's a stubborn and very empathic individual.
Once she made friends with Chibi-Usa, she gained some confidence in herself, finally having someone who liked her for her. She clung to her first friend like a lifeline, but doubts crept in. Due to the bullying and Mistress 9's influence, she felt the darkness inside her, and feared she may be the monster the other children claimed. This insecurity continued even after Mistress 9 was defeated, and she began to fear losing Chibi-Usa, whether to death, or her pink haired friend deciding that everyone else was right and she wasn't worth her friendship.
She would do anything for the people she cares about, even give up her life, and she has more than once. She knows she's a weapon and a deep dark part of her that is more Hotaru than Sailor Saturn occasionally resents that, but noone else can do what she can.
Sailor Saturn is destruction incarnate. She is more a calculating weapon than a warrior.She has no empathy, and very little sympathy for others. She seems to enjoy causing chaos and destruction, but that's not surprising considering that's her realm of influence. Her only duty was to destroy everything in her path, so it can be reset, reborn and renewed... and obey the Queen. She is very serious and stoic, even in the face of her own demise. To protect what she is meant to protect, nothing is too much of a sacrifice. She is confident in herself because she knows her place in the universe.
When Hotaru was re-created as a baby, and then became Sailor Saturn again, their personalities merged. The sweet empathetic and insecure child was tempered by the serious and driven Saturn. Her insecurities, while not gone, were easier to deal with, with the calm logic of Saturn, and the single minded love for destruction was tempered by Hotarus love for her friends and family. She is still rather shy when meeting new people, but among the Outers she is confident enough to take the lead when required.

Attack 1: Silence Wall: She uses her Silence Glaive to form an impenetrable shield around herself and those around her. The energy can be repourposed to form her offensive attack, Silence Glaive Surprise. which throws a beam of energy at the enemy.
Side Note: Saturn will always have access to her incredibly destructive Death Reborn Revolution,which has the power to destroy and reset a galaxy, as evidenced during the final days of the Silver Millenium. As it is death based, it seems to leave non-living entities, such as the planets themselves intact, other than some backlash wind damage, but it is supremely deadly to living beings. This ability will most likely never be used except as a last resort and is being mentioned for posterity.
Mission: Sailor Saturns mission is to protect the galaxy and the queen. Hotarus mission is to protect Chibi-Usa and the people she cares about. Most of the time these missions coincide, but she will be very conflicted if they ever diverge. Her other mission is to never become a monster.

Many years ago, near the end of the first Silver Millenium, Queen Persephone of Saturn gave birth to a tiny baby girl. The child was thought stillborn, as she did not cry,and the healer was convinced that she was not breathing. They tried everything they could to revive the babe, and were ready to tell the queen the sad news when the babys bright violet eyes opened and she took her first breath, the room was silent in shock when she smiled at them. They never told the queen of the phenomenon, as it had been a hard birth, and everything seemed fine now, barring the fact that the child,did not cry.
The trend of silence continued as baby Lua, newborn Princess of Saturn grew up in the palace on Titan. She was always small, and her curious eyes seemed to follow you everywhere. She had a habit of getting into places she shouldn't be, due to her intense curiousity. Lua was a friendly child, though she didn't speak much and many liked her. As she grew she discovered she had the power to heal, and would slip out to help the hurt and sick, driving her parents and the Knights guarding her, to their wits end. All went well, until the day she was found to be Sailor Saturn. Then everything changed, and a darkness fell over her life.

Luas star seed began to awaken during an incursion from beyond the galaxy when she was nine. The outers and their Knights rose to defend the Milky Way against the forces of darkness. The Knights of Saturn rose to the occasion as well, fighting to keep their homeland safe. Crys rang through the air and Lua, who had been visiting a sick young woman at the request of her brother, was stuck in the middle of it. She ran and hid, terrified, the sight of people fighting and dying around her. When she was shot from behind her mind went blank and as the blood soaked into her dress the Sailor Crystal within her woke with a vengeance. "Saturn Crystal Power,Make Up" echoed across the battlefield. All that anyone nearby saw before their death was glowing violet eyes as cold as death and blinding light reflecting from a pole arm twice the size of the girl wielding it. As her glaive rose, the words on her lips that would destroy everything, she collapsed. Her body wasn't ready for the transformation yet, wasn't ready to channel the power her own heart wielded. No one was willing to go near her, as she had killed friend and foe alike in that first wave. Not too long after the battle ended, Queen Serenity arrived, having felt the activation of a crystal that she had not expected to feel. One that should only awaken near a time of great strife. She took the child back to the Moon Kingdom, and her status as the most dangerous senshi was explained to her mother. Her father had been running to get her out of harm way and had been close to her, far too close.
After that disastrous event, Queen Serenity sealed the power of Sailor Saturn deep within Luas soul, using the power of the Silver Crystal as that was the only thing strong enough. Knowing that a weapon of such power would be needed someday, she took the talismans of the outer scouts and turned them into keys, but even she was unsure how well she could seal the power of destruction and rebirth. It was chaotic in nature and the Silver Crystal was a thing of light and order. Thus, she created a fourth Talisman, one that could monitor the seal, and strengthen the seal if needed. Pandoras Box was created to keep the nightmare of the Silence at bay, and given to a strong willed man who served his Princess well, Pandora Knight. He was assigned to be Lua's constant companian and guard, although some of the other Knights shared the burden. His main task was to keep Saturn from awakening again.
Lua herself only remembered the horror of the incident, so when the rumors spread and people started looking at her with fear, it broke her heart. She becams silent and withdrawn, only speaking to her Knight. Pandora was the only one who did not shy away from her. The only one who greeted her day after day with no fear in his eyes. He was also the first to make her smile after the destruction she had caused. As the years passed they became closer, he was the closest thing to an older sibling and friend that she had. He defended her from the people who thought that she was a danger, even from some of her own people who believed that she would be better off dead. Even from some other Senshi....his fellow Knights. She healed him time after time, saddened that her existance was the reason he was getting hurt. He always told her that it was worth it because it meant that she was safe. They were friends after all.
When Queen Serenity began to cast the souls of the Senshi into the future, the Outers brought thier talismans together, awakening Sailor Saturn. Having been kept out of the fighting she lifted her Silence Glaive and hesitated as the orders to destroy and reset echoed in her consciousness. She turned to Pandora. With the memories of Lua, she knew he was a true warrior, a true knight. He shouldn't die among the millions of souls she would send to the afterlife today. He would go ahead of them. He had earned it. Without a sound, she ran him through with the Silence Glaive, eyes holding his until the light left them and Pandoras box fell from his nerveless fingers. The last dregs of Lua fought to the surface, closing his eyes with her hand, a single tear running down her cheek as she raised the instrument of death to the heavens, calling out the words that would end everything.

Ribbons of death spiraled out from the blade, destroying all life it touched, including that of its wielder.
A lone comet was just outside of its range,its lone occupant rocked by the powerful backlash....
An injured green haired figure appeared at the time gates, falling to her knees in grief, her Knight squeezing her shoulder, the only thing he can do with the destruction of all they know...
and the souls of the senshi were carried towards the future, away from death and towards rebirth.

After being sent forward in time by Queen Serenity, Saturn was reborn within her lookalike, Hotaru Tomoe. Hotaru, as with Lua, grew up a happy, active child in a big house with her father and mother. Her father was a scientist, and the happy days ended when there was an explosion in his lab when he accidently opened up a portal, killing his wife and, nearly killing his daughter. He went near crazy and used his illegal research to turn Hotaru into a cyborg to keep her alive. In a misguided attempt to make her stronger, he implanted a Daimon egg he'd aquired from the Witches 5 into her body. This was the gateway for Misstress 9's posession. Because of Mistress nine leeching off of her, Hotaru grew frail and could no longer play the way she used to, and she had moments of blankness explained to her as seizures. Ironically correct as these were the times Mistress 9 was "seizeing" her body. She also gained the inexplicable ability to heal, a throwback to her past life, and a sign that the seal on her powers was eroding.
Hotaru's new weakness, and seizures were enough for the kids in her class to start ostracizing her.She was shoved, her lunch was dumped, her homework was stolen, and then there were the names. It all escalated the day she healed her classmates scraped knee... suddenly she was a demon. A witch, unnatural. The bullying grew worse, and the last classmate who had left her alone, a fellow target for bullies, shunned her and was terrified of her. She soon grew depressed, the dark feelings letting Mistress 9 posess her more, her malevolent actions giving the students evidence to the claims that she was evil. Her world turned dark as her health declined, her beloved father was acting strange, and the lonliness was unbearable, when suddenly she found a new light. She met a small pink haired girl when she snuck into the school chasing her hat, and they swiftly became friends,Chibi Usa was friendly, and best of all, wasn't afraid of her!.They played together until they were attacked by a Daimon. They were saved by Sailor Moon, and Chibi Usa using their powers. Hotaru healed her new friend, and was excited when ChibiUsa thought her healing powers were cool. She now had a best friend who trusted her to keep a huge secret. Hotaru was walking on air, until everything came crashing down again. Hotaru collapsed and Chibi Usa used her silver crystal to heal her.
When the other outers told Sailor Moon that Hotaru was Sailor Saturn and that they were going to kill her, Chibi Usa ran to warn her, and Hotaru had to watch as Mistress 9 used her body to steal Chibi-Usa, her new best friends, Pure-Heart Crystal. Hotaru screamed in her own head as the evil spirit left the bright girl a shell, and went on to steal the Holy Grail to ressurect Pharaoh 90.
Hotaru fought the posessesion as hard as she could. She had to get the crystal back to save Chibi-Usa.She managed to say goodbye to her father when Sailor Moon killed him.As she stubbornly protected the two Heart crystals, her powers swelled and awoke,she helped return the inners spirits to their bodies and held Mistress nine inside of her. Sailor Saturns power overwhelming Mistress 9 and burning her out of Hotarus soul. The stoic Saturn was driven by the heart of Hotaru to return Chibi-Usas heart crystal, saving her, but she had no time to speak to her friend. Pharaoh 90 was still attempting to come into the world. Against Sailor Moons wishes, Saturn knew that the only way to save everyone was to unleash her power inside Pharaoh 90 and destroy him. She lept into his core, knowing that with her death, the one person who cared about her, and the Princess would be safe. Unleashing the Death Reborn Revolution for a second time, she destroyed Pharaoh 90.
Hotaru was reborn as a healthy baby. Now an orphan, Hotaru was adopted by the Outer senshi. She remembered nothing of her life, though she grew at an accelerated rate, taking in the world with intelligence far beyond her years. She awakened again as Sailor Saturn to help them defeat Queen Nehelenia at Chibi-Usas side. Remembering everything, her two personalities merged, and while her personality shifted, she was still Hotaru.As time went on,she became closer to her new parents,the other scouts, and most of all her best friend. When it came time for Chibi-Usa to return to her time,it hurt Hotaru deeply.
In the final battle against Galaxia, Uranus and Neptune left their daughter to protect the world from the invaders and fell, Hotaru sensed that they were in trouble and transformed, appearing beside them to fight and die alongside Pluto.
As with the rest of the scouts, Hotaru was reborn from the Galaxy Cauldron, again as a baby, she aged normally this time, able to have a true childhood, and she grew up only a few years older than her best friend, Chibi-Usa who was born not too much later. As the years passed and her memories were regained, she became very protective of Usagis daughter and remained by her side far into the future, even though she was technically part of her mothers senshi. She briefly became jealous when Chibi Usas own senshi started to awaken, she felt her friend would not need her anymore. But Chibi Usa showed her how stupid she was being. As they grew, so did their friendship, where you saw Chibi Usa, Hotaru wasn't very far behind, unless she was overseeing her duties as Saturn. There was a point where Usagi tried to keep them apart, because Hotaru had compared her relationship with Chibi-Usa to that of her and Mamoru, and Usagi felt her daughter was too young for that, but she'd misunderstood. Hotaru had been referring to how she felt for the pink haired senshi, but not in a sexual sense, they were both too young for that. Hotaru simply loved Chibi-Usa and would do anything to protect her. When Neo Queen Serenity and Endymion turned up missing, Hotaru was at Chibi-usas side and she has not left her since. While Usa was strong, she loved her parents dearly and not knowing what was happening to them was terrifying. Hotaru would not leave her friend while she was hurting, and she would be her support for the challenges to come.

Hotarus fingernails dug into her palms as she stood outside of Usa's room. She could hear the sobs through the door,and she wanted with all her heart to comfort her friend, but the door was locked. It had been nearly three months since the King and Queen had vanished without a trace. The Senshi had searched everywhere on Earth and were starting on the other planets. Mars was doing everything she could, but the flames were silent. Chibi-Usa had held on strong with the hope that her Moon-Mama would come back and it was all just a joke, but Hotaru could see the hope fading from her eyes as every day past. And she could do nothing.
Today... Today her best friend had been declared Queen. Even though it was meant to be a temporary measure, she could tell it had driven home the fact that they had no idea where to even start looking. Tonight, Chibi-Usa, the strongest girl she knew, had broken down crying for her mother. Her Queen was missing, and her best friend was hurting, and she could do nothing. Healing powers were only good on the body, not the heart. Healing of the heart has always been Usagis job. "Usa...Please." Hotarus voice cracked, Usa's pain was palpable in the air and her own heart hurt. "Please let me in." The sobs slowed for a moment then stopped. Hotaru stepped back as the lock clicked and the door cracked showing a defeated looking young woman. Usas eyes were redder than usual and her hair was a mess. There was a bruise on her fist from where she had punched a wall in her grief and helplessness. Hotaru reached out slowly to take the injured hand in hers, letting the warmth of her healing wash over it. She wasn't prepared for the younger girl to throw herself into her arms. Letting her best friend sob into her shoulder,Hotaru held her close. "Shhh...Usa.They'll come back. Sereni..Usagi is stronger than that." Remembering all of the things the powerful young queen had overcome in the past century she could almost believe it.
